It's egg-cellent

It's almost time to start on my Easter place card holders! I'm re-posting last years project here on my main blog, Enjoying the simple things and its follow-up here. A friend suggested coloring the eggs first so I may try that this year. Stay tuned for new results.

Front runner

I think I have narrowed it down with the white Chesterfield as the front runner. It's no slouchy couch and with that tufted back, never will be. Add in some pillows and you've got deep, comfy seating.

It looks like it could handle my kids.

Look how modern it is in this setting yet holds its traditional styling.

Quest for a couch

Jon asked me the other day if I minded if we got a new couch. Hellooo. Don't have to ask me twice!
Our current one is only 3 years old but I originally wanted a tight backed couch and searched everywhere but found nothing. And I still bought one with a cushion back. Mistake. It's looking schlumpy and it's the biggest investment in the room.
I didn't want to have to order without testing it out but I may have to do just that. I'll be reading the reviews carefully.

So here I am on the hunt for the perfect couch. Here are some ideas.

Do you have a tight backed couch or a cushion back? Do you like it? Which do you prefer?

Restful night - bedding option

I really wanted this but when I went to the store, I decided against the purchase. It seemed too loosely attached on the comforter. It's bothersome when comforters slip out of the duvet covering. So, I decided to wait and see what else I could find.

Enter Target and their $79.00 comforter set, not just a duvet.

I was thrilled when we were there a few months ago and Jon asked out of the blue, "Can we get a new comforter?" And after looking at all of the ones we liked, we went back to our original choice. It is comfortable and so soft.

The pin tucks are detailed with buttons which gives it a little more interest. At any given time, I can find one or all of my kids snuggled up on my bed, under the covers. Occasionally I even have to look around the house and see who swiped it to bring it back to my room.

Come spring, I'll be opting for the white one to lighten and brighten but may have to lock the door to deter the comforter thieves.
